Americans support Trump's immigration plan

Sure, it is a poll by one of the many, many, many pollsters who missed the 2016 election. However, the Morning Consult/Politico poll confirms my opinion, so I offer it as evidence.

Hey, I was mainstream media for four decades.

From the poll of 43% Obama voters/28% Romney:

  • 42% said we allow too many low-skilled workers -- and 12% said too few.
  • 32% said we allow too many "temporary low-skill workers who enter who enter as seasonal workers in agriculture, hospitality, recreation, or landscaping" -- and 17% said too few.
  • 33% said we all too many legal immigrants as a whole -- and 12% said too few.
  • 62% said speaking English should be a factor to come in -- and 29% said no.
  • 54% said a "record of professional or academic achievement" should be a factor to come in -- and 32% said no.

And the bombshell.
48% said we should cut legal immigration in half -- and 39% said no.
Immigration is near peak in the United States as almost 14% of the population is foreign born.

Patriotic Americans -- as opposed to the open borders, world citizen kind -- want to protect our values, most particularly free speech, freedom of religion, and the right to protect yourself with firearms, if necessary.

We also do not want to Press One for English.

That by the way is the real American tradition going back to Frederick A.C. Muhlenberg.

  1. One of my daughters, visiting Australia. decided to stay. she had an advanced degree at the time.

She could not get a regular job but had to wait tables (in a country where tipping is NOT the norm) and get paid "under the table" as the restaurants could not issue her a legal paycheck.

As an alien, she had to renew her visa quite often, and pay for the renewal each time, and it took a long time to finally get the equivalent of a "Green Card" to be able to work legally, and longer to qualify for citizenship, which required a bit of determination on her part.

This was inconvenient, but it shows that Australia knows how to protect it's borders. As every country should.

She was sworn in by the Lord Mayor of her city, in full regalia.

  2. You're still the mainstream media, Don.

It's the mainstream media that has chosen to become the lame stream media.......

  3. The press 1 for English was the final straw for my non-political wife who is now right of center and not bashful about it.
